Can a burnishing tool (Porpers) cause a ferrule to loosen up?That's what I use and noticed ferrule has slight turn to it.

I seriously doubt that tool would loosen the ferrule. It probably just grabbed enough to move the ferrule which had already had a glue failure. It just brought to light a problem that already existed.

were you using it by hand or on a lathe.......by hand i agree with cueman, if by lathe the heat generated might have loosened the glue a bit
