Arkadelphia,Arkansas has two colleges , Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist University, has a population of 12,000 plus about that many college kids.
Last November election the county was voted "WET" all surrounding counties are "DRY" the county has already started allowing the sales of beer and wine in the convenient stores, the county will not allow sales of Hard Liquior, just beer and wine.
If someone has some capital to invest in a poolroom here in Arkadelphia,Ar. I believe they would have a virtual GoldMine! You can have the Arkansas Pool League two nights a week as a satillite host, Karaoke one night, that would be a packed house, and possibly (a band on the weekends , that would be a cash cow, but not necessarily needed ) would pack it out , according to what extend you want to go with things, and a weekly pool tournament also on the weekends, I could handle all your pool getting off the ground and running, everything else is up to you.
I do believe this is a money maker for someone.
You see there was an old poolhall many yrs. ago but it has long closed, but college kids didn't cater to the old school atmosphere, but this will be a whole different ball game, setup for the college kids on certain nights and a mix of the older gereration on weekends.
The only place to shoot pool around Arkadelphia is Hot Springs 40 miles away, Texarkana 80 miles, Little Rock 90 miles, Camden 50 miles, and you have to travel that far to do any clubbin at all, so this poolroom, beerwine drinking,Karaoke singing college kids, country dancers on the weekends types, will fit right in I'm sure of it!
Also if the taxes are higher here in Arkadelphia, may consider putting it 7 miles away in this other town call Friendship, the colleges are inbetween the two.
I guess one would have to make a phone call to the local Chamber of Commerce to get the ball rolling, and to find out about beer/wine licensing and permits.
