Can anybody identify this cue?

I stumbled upon this on ebay a week or so ago and it looks very interesting, not like anything I've ever seen before. Apparently its a Jacoby. Anybody have any other thoughts or comments?

Are you meaning to imply it might be a fake because one of the pictures clearly shows 'Jacoby' engraved in the butt.

Jacoby makes a great cue for the money. I have owned 3 of them.

No, not that its fake. But it surely is unique. I don't think I've ever seen a production cue like that. Maybe its custom made? Whatever it is, it sure is unique, and very simple too.

It's a Jacoby. I think they were marketed as break cues? It's nothing special really; just alternating layers of dyed and undyed wood, flat laminated and turned.

Yeah, thats why I'm surprised it went for so high, although I guess a predator shaft sure does help raise its price. Theres no inlays and no exotic materials I believe. Anybody know how old this kind of cue is?

The material used in the cue is called Diamondwood. Many cue makers have used this wood. Here is one that was for sale. It comes in a variety of colors.
