Can cue silk seal a wooden shaft?

The title says it, and I'm curious. Can cue silk seal a wooden shaft? I know that people may use Qwax. Can cue silk achieve the same/similar result, or at least achieve some sort of partial sealing (if that's possible)?

That will not seal the shaft. You need to seal it with another sealer, apply some wax, burnish it and then apply the silk seal.
