As some of you know I just sold my Gold Crown this week. During the last three months that I owned it I practiced about 2 hours a day. During that time I feel the more I played, the worse I played. Thats not the reason I sold it. We're moving back down to Florida. I tried everything, like structured practice, playing all games, working all the advise from all the best teachers i could find. It just seems when I get on a table every day it's detrimental to my overall game. Don't get me wrong , I have never learned so much about my own tendancies to miss certain shots, favor one break shot over another, I learned a ton of moves in 1-pocket, took the time to learn the diamond systems and the like, but when I would try to run balls it seemed if there was'nt someone on the other side shooting back I was'nt into it. I guess after re-reading this, the things I did learn may in the long run be more valuable then making high runs?. I never thought I would be ok with selling my table, but it's not so bad at the moment. I do miss the pool rooms where I used to practice. Anyone else ever hear anything like this?.......Gerry

less = more

Jery, I think we all have experienced this. Sometimes, I will be in the zone for weeks, other times, I wonder where my game went. I recently underwent a operation on my wrist. Remove bone and fuse bones. Hurts like hell five weeks later. Game has gone to hell. The more I practice, the worse I get. I just go back to my mechanics and don't worry about poting balls. When I play, seems ok until I have a masse or break, then it feels like I cracked another bone. I try not to do it, but forget in the heat of the battle. Good luck with your move.
