Have you heard of the STOP shot. The most important shot in the game. The shot calls for a center ball hit with follow thru. Set up a straight in shot with the cueball about three feet from the object ball. Shoot about 1/16 inch below center so the cue ball stops dead in it's tracks. Practice this from differant distances. The cue ball must be sliding upon contact. When using this stroke on cut shots, the cue ball will stay on the tangent line. If you know where to hit the cue ball to keep it on the tangent line, you will learn how to play better position. A little draw and the cueball comes back off the line and a little follow makes it roll forward off the tangent line. The cue will make a "pop " sound when shooting this shot. Sometimes refered to as the pop shot.
