How about layanicues.com?

Richard

I'm a proud owner of a Layani cue and I find them to be a great feeling cue that hits just excellent.I know 4 others locally who own Layani's and everyone feels the same way I do. His patended conical joint is just excellent and makes the cue feel like one piece. When buying a cue from Canada or from anywhere else, be sure to check out a Layani cue.You won't be dissapointed. RJ

They are based out of Missisauga, most of their cues are reasonably priced and hit like a dream. Karen Corr shoots with a falcon.

My wife and I just purchased 2 Layani's cues and like them very much.

Living in the US, I just have one MAJOR gripe. You must send money via check - he has no pay pal account. I, for instance, would like to order a few bolts to change the weight in my cue, but I find it a pain in the you know what to send a check via snail mail, wondering if it ever gets there, etc., as my overnight express original check took weeks to get delivered because he wasn't there to sign for it.

I see what you mean. The Canada postal service has not been the greatest in the world.

When you send it by UPS, FedEx, or other courier service, you can have the option of not requiring a signature. And with the tracking number, you can tell when it has been delivered. I always use FedEx and it has been the most precise and accurate service so far.

Some couriers contracted the work out to Canada Post once the letter get through Canada Custom and then it will go down from there. I tried USPS express (2-3days) before--it took 2 days for the letter to arrive in Canada and 5 days for the Canada postal service to deliver it! Besides, their tracking service is not being updated at all on the Canada end so in the mean time, you will have no idea what is going on until after the letter is delivered. The agony is simply too much to bear.

With FedEX, there are a lot of scans and updates so you can have the peace of mind that your check is not lost. You will be informed where it is during its delivery process; once it is delivered, you will know it almost right away on line. You can also have the option of re-routing the mail by calling their 1-800 number in case you need to send it to another address. It is not really that much more expensive and it is definitely worth it. ;)

I am glad to hear that you like Thierry's work. IMO, He is certainly the best Canadian cue maker if not one of the best in North America.

Take care,

Richard

Richard, are you the guy that called up Doug Foster for that Jump cue for Jennifer Chen? Are you her manager? I could be talking out my ass here, but i thought it was Richard at Nippon that he was dealing with. Could be way the hell off base here. But if it is you, don't you thikn that if you call a cuemaker asking for a Jump cue for a player of yours you could at least give him some sort of 'honorable mention' in a Canadian Cuemakers discussion?

If i am wrong on who you are, nevermind :)

Easy Junior...PM would be more appropriate. Owner of 3 Fosters.

Why is this guy fxskater begging people to mention the name of this foster cue maker? Is he the cue maker himself? Kind of remind me of fast larry and his meucci if you ask me.

Thierry may be the most visible half of the partnership but Alain Gendron should get most of the credit for building those great cues. I know Thierry will agree with me...

Indeed, very well said David. Working in the shadow is not always easy, recognition of your work is something to be proud of and that keeps you going.

Personally I think the two of you make the best hitting cue out there.

Incidentally, Thierry, someone on RSB said he was thinking about buying a 'customized' cue as a gift for his wife... how expensive is engraving the person's name on the joint? Or even somewhere on the butt or shoulder?

Actually it depends if the name is Bob or Pierre-Jean-Jacques!!

Lol... so you charge by the letter? All I'm asking, for a medium length name like David Malone, is a ball park estimate... will that cost me $20 or $2,000?
Work with me here, Thierry - give me some examples...

BTW, I was chatting with Protection Island Bruce the other day and he says he's dying to get one of your cues. However, I don't think he has been able to talk his wife into it yet...
