What was our bet again dirvermaker? Refresh my memory please. I'm not trying to get out of it. Just want to know what it is.

$25 if you get to 8 games or higher for you...otherwise to me if you don't.

With all of your weekly lessons, slow play sharking techniques, and everything else...I'm starting to think you're the favorite. :(

I knew all along what our bet was, just wanted to see if you did. Are you sure you want to this to be the bet, or do you still want the rest of your chances that were in the original bet.

Refresh my memory on the original bet.

The bet was that the race would be no worse than 11 to 8 in either direction. So you can add to your chances if I would win 11 to 7 or less.

That may be true...then I surely made a loser bet. Dammit....

damn......i'm starting to think i need a spot........

having the NUTS and all.......capitan should have no problem making a little more money off this.........

I didn't think you understoud it when you replied to me ribbing you about me laying down a little if I got ahead 11 to 7. LOL

I'll have to think about that.

What's to think about. It improves your chances that you thought you had.

What's all this mention about a 'top player'. The only thing I said about a top player is that is would take a top player to make me look that bad.

Got it now. Duh...

How's your 9-ball game Cap...interested in doing a little side bet on a short race to 7 with VAP? Regardless who wins...that shouldn't take too much additional time. Oooops, I forgot it was YOU that I was talking to about time.
Guess we'll need that egg timer after all.... :D

there's ALWAYS room for negotiation..........

especially since it would take such a champion to beat you........you shouldn't be taking any risk at all playing lil ole me......

besides, the pressure might help you get to the next level........ :D

VAP

Never said it would take a champion to beat me. Read it again. :)

As I've said before, I don't know either one of you from the man in the moon and I never met VAP.

However, I assume these tournaments that you'll be playing in are 9-ball, correct? Since VAP isn't a champion (otherwise YOU would know about it),
I'll still go out on a limb even though he's only been playing the game for about 2 years. You play a race to 7 with him...I'll give you the called 8 in the first game, and the break in the next two games. You name the amount $$.

JR, either you are laying low or brazing just a little. Having never seen you shoot, my money would be that Shorty Henson could beat you in 8 ball so bad that you would be lucky to win a game. No disrespect to you or your game, but Shorty in the APA had a .39 innings per game average. Shorty plays a lot in the planet pool 9 ball tourneys. He isn't even a pro, but my money is that he would clean your clock like it has been never been cleaned before.

Dennis Brison would make you look bad also, reay bad. He is from northern Va. These guys are not pros either.

I would never make a statement so brash as yours unless I could back it up. Maybe you will surprise me! See you there. WW

Am I reading this wrong or are you just repeating what I said? wait a minute...let me scroll down here and read what I said again... brb... ok, I'm back now. If I'm reading what you are saying correctly Shorty is pretty good. I never said champion and I never said beat. I said "It would take a top player to make me look that bad in a race to 11 in 8 ball". That is out of context though. 'that bad' was referring to a statement that was made as if I can't play pool. Well, it just so happens that I can play pool.

As far as backing it up. I've already made an exception as far as my gambling is concerned in this one case cause I think we are going to have fun and I think it is going to be a close match.

Question though. I don't play APA. Can you give me a quick explanation of how you average less than one (.39) inning per game? I do play in a 8 ball league though. This past year I came in second in the individual standings with a .779 average.

If you run out at your first opportunity at the table there would be no innings recorded because the inning is not recorded until that players turn has ended, even if it is during the next rack. Safeties are also supposed to reduce innings if they are recorded correctly.

Therefore, if you have one inning in one game and a break and run in the next game, your average innings would be 0.5.
