Car seat leather cue wrap?

I want a oxblood leather wrap on my cue and I want to know if you can use car seat leather?

Oxblood wraps are available but if you prefer car-seat leather there may be some obstacles/limitations.
The leather would have to be close to the thickness of leather used on cues and it would have to be
uniform in it's thickness at all points. That's for the good stuff. YMMV.
