Hello, for those who would like to know what thickness and what weight for a carbon fiber shaft tube blank, I saw that the question was asked sometimes here, I tried many blanks of all dimensions. The last batch I ordered, 15 1/2 inch of pro taper, 12.35 MM at tip and 21.4 MM at the joint, normal dimensions, these tubes weight 1.35 oz and have 0.75 MM of thickness and they are more stiff than the Revo 12.4 easily and well mounted easily less deflection too.
The most important thing is to lighten the ferrule as much as possible and I leave the last 6 inches near the ferrule empty, no foam.
With high quality carbon, 0.75 to 0.85mm of wall is thick enough for all dimensions of playing shafts and 1 to 1.1 mm thick enough for breaking shaft, 1.2mm is a bit too much. At 1.35 oz blank tube we can easily make a final shaft at 3.25 oz and we adjust the weight to 3 3/4 to 4.25 oz like normal weight shaft. Never a maple shaft can rivalise with a carbon one in term of deflection.
