i bought about 40 of these cues from mr. conlon's estate a few years back. sold most of them to friends around nj. at the time, i was only able to get maybe 2 additional shafts with all of those cues. i refused my nephew when he wanted another shaft after breaking the threaded pc on his ccs cue. i managed to repair his by glueing it back together.
i suggest you get a new tip installed before the old one falls off, so it can be done when convenient.
i've wondered if helmstetter would make a pool cue tapered shaft with the black checkered joint ring if asked. they make and sell the wood screw shafts with the billiard taper and ferrules with no joint ring routinely. lmk how you do.
