Carmeli Silver Diamond by Viking

According to their website “Viking has partnered with the renowned cue maker, Ariel Carmeli to create this Diamond Series of cues. Each Diamond cue is manufactured under the exact specifications provided by Ariel Carmeli.” It’s a nice looking cue but I’m wondering what makes it different from a standard Viking production cue.

I believe it uses a 3/8x10 modified pin and otherwise I assume it's pretty similar to standard Viking construction, but not sure, maybe there is more to it. I will say, some of the best looking designs Viking has ever put out, they're great looking classic cues. I need to swing by Viking (they're local to me) and see if I can check one of these out in person sometime.

It has an ebony forearm cored with maple, I believe Ariel uses purple heart to core his cues, not sure how much difference this makes. I live outside the US & there are no Viking dealers in my country so no chance for me to test hit one. If you do get a chance to visit Viking I’d appreciate your opinion.

The inlays are “ivory IMA” so some kind of ivory substitute. I agree about the Carmeli shafts, maybe I could ask him if he would sell me just a shaft.

I was hoping the points / inlays were not stickers, ugh!
The website describes them as “Tri-Color REAL Maple Veneer Points” so doesn’t sound like stickers. I couldn’t imagine Ariel allowing his name to be attached to a cue with overlays.

Statement from Ariel Carmeli:

It’s come to my attention that some people think Viking is making my cues or I’m making some of their cues. To be clear, I’ve designed 3 cues for them and I am designing 3 more for them for next year.
They do not build my cues or finish them or aid me in any way.
The cues that they are building with my designs are done very well, they are priced incredibly well and offer the customer a great value, and if that’s not good enough, they play well too.
I’m proud to have an American company building my designs in America, so if you need a cue and you like my designs but my custom cues are above your price point at this time, please buy one of my designs that Viking is selling.
I hope this clears up any questions people may have had.

Best looking stuff Vike has offered in eons. So sick of their addiction to that swirly LSD-dripped funky ass plastic they use in almost every cue they make.
One thing I don’t like is the Irish linen wrap but Viking told me they can make one with a leather wrap.
