Carom Shaft for Viguera Cue

I have a Viguera Cue that I like but it only has a pool taper shaft. The cue has a wood joint screw.

I would like to get a carom shaft make for it. There is a Viguera carom shaft available but the wrinkle is that the cue I have has the screw in the butt, not the shaft so this carom shaft pin would have to be cut off and then threaded to fit the butt.

Adrian is without a shop now days. Kyle from Mariposa is not building anymore either. I don't know of anyone else in the Chicago area.

Anyone have an idea on who might be able to do this kind of work?

Thanks

billiard shaft for Viguera cue

Jim Buss in St. Louis can make you a shaft.

He is a fine cuemaker, and very nice fellow to deal with, you can get online for his webb site.

He made me a shaft for a deickmon cue, and did a fine job.

Thanks a bunch. That's a great lead.

If its a wood pin then Dieckman or Kilby is your best bet. Buss is a great cue builder but wood pins aren't his forte. He'll tell you that himself. He can do it and they'll probably function fine but he doesn't have the same tooling and they'll look different.

I wouldn't have thought either of them would have wanted to work on someones elses cue. It may be worth a try. Thanks

Sure they would. It's an order$$$ There's no insult. Everybody or at least most in the business are friendly with each other. Adrian and DD are good friends and DD and Kilby are also friends for sure.

Ron said he would take a look at it. Thanks for the suggestion. I am looking at going with his conical taper witha 12mm tip. Not sure what tip to go with but I'll see what he suggests.

Sending it off today.

kilby

I play with a Kilby carom cue and have owned a few other kilbys, also I have had Ron customize a few carom shafts for me and he is awesome to deal with and does some of the best work i have ever seen, you wont be unhappy with him.

This is Bassel from Michigan, besides selling all models of cue lathes, as a fanatic 3-Cushion Player, I have started making custom made billiard shafts for any cue out. I have purchased a big quantity of over sized billiard shafts and I intend to customize then to whom ever need any shafts for thier cues.
Give me a call @ 248-884-4469 and we can talk about this
I also have a bunch of laminate shaft blanks too.
Regards
