Cases for longer cues

My playing cue and break cue are 2" longer than normal cues, one extra inch on the butt and one extra inch on the shaft. This creates a prolem with cases. I tried to put it in my friends Instroke case(without the joint protectors) and it didn't close.

What is a good quality case that I can keep my cues in? I don't really need to use joint protectors if that's what I need to do .

Anyone have any suggestions for a 3butt 4+shaft case(it will hold only 4 shafts, so the less shaft spots the better) that will fit my cues?

Check out www.zimsrack.com under "Used Items". I have a 3x6 Giuseppe case that holds longer cues, both butt first or joint first.

At one time, I had a 60 inch cue. I had a used instroke leather case and it would not fit in it. My husband had a new, within the last year, instroke, and it did fit in his. So it seems that the newer instrokes accommodate the longer ones. We needed xtra space for cues so I bought the new instroke geo, which also seems okay for a longer cue.

There is a guy on ccb, I think he goes by instroke or something who could tell you for absolute sure which instroke cases will hold that 60in cue. Also, depending on how much you want to spend on a case, the whitten and justice are great cases and are custom so am sure one of those will hold it too.

Really do not know anything about the brand zims is talking about, but when cases came up on ccb, justice, whitten and instroke seemed to be recommended more frequently.

Silver Fox will probably work. They hold a lot of cues and aren't too expensive. Check out Hawleys. A 4X8 is like $120 or something. They hold longer cues. I have some shafts that don't come close in an instroke that do fit in the silver fox.

Like Zim said, Giuseppe's are great cases for the cash. I personally have had a 3x6 for several years, and it's still in great condition, and I am known for being tough on my equipment. They aren't all that expensive, and you can get them in custom lengths for only a few bucks more.

The standard case I bought from them is still longer than most. Without joint protectors, I have to really reach down to grab my 5/16" pin. The 3/8" pin is easier, however. Hawley's also carries the Giuseppe line, and they're usually happy to help with different setups.

P.S. You have a PM.

My Layani is also 60" long, and I have no trouble with it in an Instroke 2x4 Cowboy case. I think the shafts with joint protectors come out to be about 31.5 inches long and they fit fine. I imagine the 3x5 Cowboy would be the same. I actually bought the Instroke because Thierry Layani made sure that the cue would fit in his Instroke before he recommended anything.
