Catalogueing practice or something like that

I recently got an idea. Tommorrow when i go and practice Im gonna bring a diagram of a pool table and a basic list of the angles of shots (theres 4 right?:D). For every miss Im going to mark down where around the table I missed and what shot it was.

Since I don't have the money for a teacher, I think this could teach me alot. For one thing if I am always missing near a certain part of the table, I then know that my stance and alignment is off. If there is a shot I miss far more than anything else then it means I need practice. If there is no rhyme or reason to any of the misses, I need to work more on my fundamentals.

What do you guys think?

I have done that before. It works for awhile until you get burned out on it... Although, it does help with consistency....\ good luck

I did that when I first started playing. I have found that if I miss a shot that is vivid in my mind (maybe the reason I lost), I will set it up and shoot it 200 times, until I feel I can't miss. I feel that's much better.
