The small inlay in the butt sleeve, the trim ring, the bumper and the wooden joint screw threads are all the same as the several CCS cues I have. Helmstetter made these to the specifications of Carl Conlon, a 3 cushion major supporter from Ann Arbor, Mi. If it is marked "CCS" (Carl Conlon Series) then I think you are safe in assuming it to be a Helmstetter. None of mine are wrapped, nor butterflied, but I don't think that difference is significant compared to these other factors.
Hope it helps

Thank you for your input, I contacted Denis Diekmann and he explained to me that this cue with the ccs on without the helmstetter is one of 1000 that carl made in japan from efren reyes specs after he came back to the states helmstetter made thousands of these but any cvs cue without the helmstetter or bob weir name as bob from texas made some as well any ccs without these other manufactures on it are from the original 1000 made in japan Denis handled carls estate when he died and he was very helpful with all his knowledge on this subject the value I found out through denis conservatively starts at 500.00 then condition is factored in and price goes up from there I have some people interested but not sure if i want to sell i do also know that this is a pool playing cue and not three cushion because it has the plastic collar again info i got from denis i will be at the us open at the end of this month and plan to take this cue and see if it sparks some interest thank you again for your comment gerry 252 622 0969 mickeymilligans91@yahoo.com
