I posted this in an other thread somewhere else, but I wanted some opinions on if something like this would work to bring pool back into mainstream TV.
This is a link to a Japanese TV show where celebrities compete in various games and sports to determine who is the best in the entertainment world. This episode happens to be about pool, with a trick-shot style competition.

It aired to pretty good ratings and after watching it, I was thinking that I might be a good idea to bring together some of the best pool-playing celebrities and maybe with some pros as coaches like "dancing with the stars" or even holding a pro-am style doubles tournament.
That way you can let the celebrities carry the entertainment and the pros can just be themselves and do their thing and become household names.
The main issue may be with costs and appearance fees, but if you could get someone who really loves the game and wants to help, like say Joe Rogan, for example, you might be able to keep costs down, at least until it takes off. Or you could get celebs to come on and then give them a chance to promote their new movie or project, like they do on talk shows.
Just a bunch of rambling thoughts, but it's something that I think a lot of people would watch and would be a lot of fun.
