There are two players that always come to mind while computer watching the great event unfold. Jeff Carter and Jean Balukas. I sure would have liked to have seen both of them in this tournament.

I imagine Balukas was asked as a "Hall of Famer" to play and refused, but I don't know. It just would have been great to give her the recognition that the other HOF players got. First time I saw her she was just a youngster playing in a 14.1 tournament in Detroit. Wow! Every time I saw her after that, it was exactly the same, Wow! She was a great player. When she entered the "open" tournaments a the only female playing against the great male players of the time, I don't think she ever did worse than the top 16. If I remember right Sigel was crying then about her taking money away from male players and shouldn't be allowed to play in "mens" events. Tsk, Tsk. She would probably love to give him one last stick in the ribs.

As for Carter, he was well on his way to becoming a number one player when "pro" pool kinda closed up shop. For a guy that had one of the best strokes in pool at that time, he would be a natural for the IPT. Jeff, if you are reading this, put your game back in order, rekindle the desire and give pool another chance.

I'm selfish - I just want to see both of them play again even if it's a one time shot.

M-m-m-m-m-m, how about a special challenge round robin match with Reyes, Sigel, Carter, Fisher, Balukas and Ouschen (sp?). Who finishes where?

My picks are:
1 Reyes
2 Ouschen
3 Fisher
4 Carter
5 Balukas
6 Mike "The Mouth" "Whiner" "Sexist" "Hang on to Coattails" Sigel
