If anyone has a fair amount of experience in this could you shoot me a pm please? The pin had been changed when I bought it from seyberts to fit a 5280 tru-loc joint and would like a 3/8x10

The person would be Kj, on here as KJ cues. He's the preditor man. Shoot him a pm, or he may chime in, he's on dial-up so it may be a minute or two....:D

Shafts don't have pins, they have inserts or are drilled and tapped to fit pins in the butt. If you mean that you would like the shaft to fit a 3/8-10 pin then the insert in the shaft needs to be bored out to a 1/2" and a solid plug installed. This plug can now be bored and tapped to fit a 3/8-10 pin. Different mechanics prefer different materials for the plug. I always prefer to use Bocota myself. If it is the pin in the butt that you want to change then it is the exact same procedure but a pin would be installed.

I remember doing this shaft.
You wanted it converted to fit the 5280 Tru-Loc which is what I did.
I did the matching ring-work as well. You don't find .010" alum. rings everyday.
I made them.
That was only a week or two ago.
Was the shaft not ordered correctly or do you now want it to fit a different cue?
I converted it once, I can convert it again.
Call Rick at Seyberts and let's get this done.
Quick question: Why would you come on this forum asking for someone else to convert this shaft for you?
Was my work not to your satisfaction?
I guarantee all my work and stand behind it. Seyberts guarantees my work as well.
If there's a problem, let's get it resolved.

Hey sir thanks for the reply. This was done about a year ago and with no ring work. I'm kind of happy to know other people are shooting with the same setup I had. There was no problem with it at all and ill call up today to see how much it will all be.

The reason I came on the forum is to see if someone could do a list of work for a little cheaper maybe. Not a huge list but one nonetheless.

My mistake.
I only get called upon to build a shaft for the Tru-Loc 5280 about once a year.
I guess yours was at least a year ago.
They may not be as popular as you believe.

Cheaper??? I'm shocked, Lol.
To that let me say this. I'm very good at what I do and I don't come cheap.
Quality work comes at a cost.

What you are asking isn't a major project and most competent CMs/C-Tecs could provide
this service for you maybe a little cheaper than I.
If you decide to call Seyberts for this service, I will be more than happy to accommodate you.

All the Best, KJ
