I posted this in the main area but wanted to post it here as well in case some of the cue makers on this forum had some suggestions.
Changing joint on a 314 to fit fury j/b
I just got my new Fury j/b cue in. I have a predator 314 shaft on a fury Nr-1 wich I bought used. The shaft will not fit on my new fury j/b cue. Can I easily get a new joint put on my 314 shaft to fit my fury j/b and can anyone point me in the right direction as to who is reliable to do this work, and is either close to Connecticut, or the Connecticut Massachusettes or Connecticut Rhode Island border. Does anyone now what type of joint is on a fury j/b cue?
I am even open to just getting a regular extra fury j/b shaft and getting a regular tip put on it.
Or would it be easier and or cheaper to just sell my fury nr-1 w/extra 314 shaft and buy a new 314 shaft. Can a 314 shaft be purchased to fit a fury j/b off the shelf or does it need to be modified anyway.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am keeping the shaft with the phenolic tip, but I also want an extra shaft that is a 314 with a regular tip so I can switch back and forth and used the fury j/b as a back up cue in case something happens to my regular cue in the middle of a match. I am definately not playing a full rack or match with a phenolic tip. I only like carrying 2 cues and don't want to get a larger case to carry around 3 cues.
