Changing Joints

I have asked this question in a different forum but thought i would ask here. at the present time i have a custom cue (Love it) with a stainless 5-16/14 and thinking about changing it to something different...what brought this on was that i was just changing things up some and used the butt of my break cue with my 314-2 and loved it... Is there some other material such as Ivory that will give me the feel I am looking for? and if so are there any problems in changing out a joint?

If you love(d) the way your custom cue plays, don't mess with it. There is no guarantee that changing the joint will make it play/feel the same as swapping shafts did. You could end up paying a nice chunk of change with negative results.

If that 314-2 shaft is the same shaft you play with on your custom cue. Then the solution might be to replace your stainless joint with the same material that is on your break cue. There is still no guarantee it will play the same as your break cue does with that shaft.

Thanks guys for your messages. I use an old x breaker as my break cue. i am thinking that it would not be ivory but some other material. I just hate having the cue and not using it as my player.
