Where's the cheapest place to install tips in New York? From what I remember, Blatt charged 15 and it popped off on 2 days. Amsterdam West charged 15-20. I'm thinking Master's on Queens Blvd. These are Moori tips if that helps.Any suggestions?

No different joint about 1-2 miles closer to Manhattan.

I live in NY and have no idea where u can get tip put on by anyone without having to drop it off/hope and wait a week.
I usually will have it done at a tournament where one of the cue guys is working but i dont know of any anytime soon.

Actually "Play" is the new Golden Q. It's one of those Slate/upscale type places. They have 4-5 bowling lanes off to the side, a separate drinking/smoking glass enclosed section, bar, etc. It's a nice place to bring a date, but as far as pool is concerned, I can't stand it. The thing I cant stand about these upscale rooms is that thick, black, shag carpet they cover the tables with to match the "decor". Also if it's so fancy schmancy, keep the cues in decent shape!
I would much rather see the old GQ up and running. JMO.

Wait, just to clarify here, you own a Moori tip that you want put on OR you want to buy a Moori tip and get it put on all for one price? I don't think Rolando (Amsterdam Billiards) charges $15-20 for merely installation. If that's all you need, I'll make a call to verify.

Stay away from Blatt's. My buddy took his cue there for a new tip and they took the finish off the shaft. I'd go with Mike Webb's suggestion and give Danny Barouty a call or drop in to Corner Billiards on 11th Street and 4th Avenue on Mondays. Barouty is usually there on Monday's running the straight pool league.

Yes, I have to agree with IronChef on this. Blatt's sells tables, that's just about it. Go there for anything else and you're gambling with poor odds. Danny is an awesome guy who does great work. IMHO, Rolando set the standard in NYC. If you're serious about your game, you won't think about saving $5 and you'll just get it done right (see Rolando or Danny).
