There is a chance to watch some 9-ball performed by former and current members of Russian national team competing at an invitational. The requirement was to feature those who won a title at national level or higher (European or World championship; well, there is one who won the 9-ball Worlds, yet at juniors - Ruslan Chinakhov. He is also a Eurotour event winner).

There are 8 players in a double-elim. bracket, 4 players qualify to KO stage. 4 are seeded. The bracket is, top to bottom:
Stepanov (1st seed) vs Seroshtan (8)
Dudanets (5) vs Kovalerchik (4)
Lutsker (3) vs Buslaev (6)
Zolotilov (7) vs Chinakhov (2)

One match per day, the schedule is as follows:
May 26, 27, 28, 29
June 2, 3, 4, 5, 16, 17
June 18, 19, 20 — semis and final
(I will try to provide matchups for every day in respective Live Stream subforum thread, though in my opinion every match should be worth watching regardless of who plays who.)

Every match is supposed to start at 10 p.m. MSK, which equals to 3 p.m. EDT, 8 p.m. BST or 9 p.m. CEST (use a time converter for your region). Live feed should be available at YouTube channels https://www.youtube.com/@WorldOfPool and/or https://www.youtube.com/@BilliardSportsRussia

The official broadcaster is https://matchtv.ru/channel/matchtv but I can’t tell if the access is regionally restricted or not. Probably for the most of you YouTube should do the trick.

The format is somewhat tweaked for the sake of TV: at the preliminary stage every match is limited to 80 minutes. If the score is level when time expires, the winner is determined by shoot-out.

One of the matches involved a shoot-out in order to break the tie!

Turned out Ruslan is struggling with some serious health issues, namely pinched nerve in the spine. Apparently it influences his overall stamina and condition, as at times he even can be seen limping pretty severely. Still, great to see he is back and tries to fight his way to the top.

The table these players were given is pretty odd. It is not assembled properly. Therefore they can not perform to the very best. It is an ordinary Rasson model, the equivalent at Asian market is Mr Sung, with the very same look as Rasson.

Remaining matches are to be held a week earlier, and the final match will be now played on June 14th

Ruslan also won an American straight pool championship.
