ok, does anyone have any recommendation what to use when you want to clean the wood portion of a GCIV?

i've never done mine, seems like there are lots of handprints, etc, on it, would like to make it shine. mine is the mahogany version.

I would use Pledge the same stuff you use to dust coffee tables etc. It smells like lemons and leaves a nice shine.

You can use any of the following:

Any sort of household cleaner meant to be used on a non-wood surface & a wet rag. Window cleaner is fine.

I strongly suggest staying away from window cleaner, the amonia and others chemical products in the solution may fog the clear coat. Using pledge will definetly give your table some shine... If its hand prints that bother you, pledge has a wax(residue) that makes fingerprints stand out even worse. I think Endust is a good solution, it doesnt have a wax base so the fingerprints arent as noticable.

Murphy's oil soap is another good product to use as well.I'd be very careful with an aerosol as you don't want to get the over spray on the fabric just spray the cloth not the wood.
