Are there any suggestions for effective ways to clean ferrules. I have some older cues which I am trying to recondition.
Thanks!

I have always used exta-fine sandpaper, like 1200 plus, and then used a burnisher afterward, but I bet a Dremel with a polishing pad and some mild polishing compound would work even better.

Magic Eraser found in the section of cleaning products at you local store.

Tooth Whitener??

Pearle Drops tooth whitener. I don't whiten my teeth so I have tried tooth paste With whitener works okay on the teeth too:D :D Of course these were not collector cues or Ivory ferrules!:) Go with what the Pros say on those.

I'll second that motion! All it needs a slighten dampening with water. But look for lower-priced store brands, about 1/4 the cost of Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser.

FWIW, the eraser is micropore melamine foam. The broken walls of the tiny pores get into the finest crevices to scrub out gunk.

"Polishing compound" used for car finishes. ***NOT RUBBING COMPOUND!
I have used it for years, and it works great.

I use the Majic Eraser also. I keep my Ferrules clean with it, and I cleaned all the Blue gunk off an old shaft with it also, made it look brand new.:)

In rec.sport.woodworking, such a post is called a "gloat."

The polite response is, "You suck!: :D
