Cleaning Irish linen wrap?

I let a friend use my cue to play a match last night. He asked me if I had leather wrap because my soiled Irish linen wrap gave him that impression.
Obviously my Irish Linen wrap is very dirty and has absorbed a lot of sweat.

Is there a product or a safe way to clean Irish linen as I've heard that one should not get it wet? Any help appreciated.

I do not think the pressed irish linen serve to really absorb any mositure, any thought?

I think what you see on your wrap is just dirts, and since it is well pressed, it appears as leather.

I will just leave it. I have no idea how you can clean up a wrap without wetting it.

Someone on a forum had suggested Blue Coral Upholstery Cleaner in a spray can. It's a Dri-Cleaner for automotive upholstery and costs about $4 a can. I bought a can but haven't tried it yet to clean the Irish Linen. A cue-tech guy at the local pool hall uses that pool table cloth cleaner in a spray can while spinning the butt on a lathe and then wiping it.
