Well Cliff put on a great show once again ! My ticket got pulled again for a challenge game of 9ball, this time the Grinder whooped my butt (it was just before the intermission, and I think he wanted a smoke so no messing around

) In an earlier match he generously gave the table back when he missed a 4 rail shot on the 6. His opponent ran the 6, 7, and 8, and then to the delight of the crowd he called a 2 rail bank to the corner on the 9 (knowing full well he didn't have to) .... slammed the thing into the heart of the pocket ... crowd went crazy

About 2 games later Cliff is shooting the 8, he lines it up, and shoots it on the exact same path, 2 rails to the corner (same ball positions, same 2 rails, same corner as his earlier opponent). He looks over at the guy and says "you thought I was going straight in, didn't you"
His trick shot show was pretty impressive as well, which is good because he is off to the World Snooker Trick Shot competition in the UK next weekend. He'll have a few extra bucks in his pocket after his visit here, having cleaned up in a golf match with some of the boys on Wendesday.
Cliff Thorburn, member of the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, and a member of the Order of Canada, is truely a great ambassador of the game, and I encourage anyone with the opportunity to see him in action.
