Last night I recut the taper on a cocobola/curly blank. As always the dark color of the coco lightened up. I know that it will darken back up but my question is will it darken back up after putting Chris's cue coat on it?

Thanks,

Allen

Yes it will darken, but putting the finish on it will slow the process down. Walk the cue out into direct sunlight and watch it darken a little right before your eyes. Purple Heart will do the same thing.
But the best thing is to leave it out in normal shop light for several days before finishing it.

I would normally let it sit for a couple of weeks to normalize but this customer is from out of town and I really want to avoid shipping.
