Hi Gang,
Before Valley Forge comes around next week, I'd like to offer up an early Cognoscenti cue for trade here. Here is a my description and pics of the cue. If you'd like more pics, please PM or email me.
Cue came with one original shaft that is 12.75mm with an ivory ferrule. I sent the cue to Joe Gold to have him make a new shaft which is 13mm with a linen ferrule. I've only test hit with the new shaft a few times. When I sent the cue to Joe Gold, he confirmed via telephone that the cue was indeed within one of the first 20 cues he'd ever made. He doesn't even use these types of rings anymore and had to make up one for the new shaft.
Cue is dark figured cocobolo forearm with a highly figured birdeye's maple wrap (nicest I've ever seen) and dark cocobolo butt sleeve. Black phenolic flat-faced joint with G-10 pin and black phenolic butt cap. Szamboti/Hercek type rings with orange, maple, black veneers at a,b,c,d, and e. Cue measures out at 57 1/2". With the old shaft, cue weighs an airy 18.2oz and with the new shaft 18.4oz. There are some dings and scratches here and there from play and a small chip in the buttcap, but nothing major and a refinish would remedy all the problems.
Cue rolls straight with either shaft. Reason why I'm trading is this cue is a bit too light for me and I like playing with linen wraps on my cues. Please PM me or email with what cue(s) you have to trade. If I don't hear anything I like by next week, then I'll try my luck at the Super Billiards Expo. Thanks for looking!
