Hello everyone. I finally figured out a way of making a composite from separate photos using my basic photo editing software. The process was a little time consuming but I’m pleased with the attached results, especially considering the limitations of the software.

Very nice

WOW those pictures are fabulous. What software did you use to create the images. I would love to learn to do that sort of thing

Great collection, awesome photo's and the details in the work is love at first sight.
Thanks for posting the pictures and I too would like to know what software you used to enhance your pictures.

Thanks!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think this is something just about anyone could do with a digital camera and the right software.

What I did was to first take 5 pictures, one of the sky background, and one of each cue. I took all the pictures outside on a clear day with the cues held up to the sky, and the sun in back of me. This gives nice bright illumination of the cue and as it turns out, is a critical test for workmanship. No flaw would go unnoticed!

Then using Adobe Photo Deluxe, which is really a poor man's Photoshop, I cut out the cue from each cue photo, paste it onto the sky background photo and lined up the cues. The last step was to blend the edges of the cues, which had some sky from the original photo, with the new sky background. This was done with the “clone” and “brush” tools. The first composite took me 20 minutes or so but the second was much quicker. I hope this all makes sense!
