Collet question

Hey there,

I'm looking to find a few things for my new(old) atlas lathe

it's a 101 w/ quick change and 36" centers. I will need to get LOTS of stuff before I use it to build a cue, which is my longterm goal. anyway, in the mean time I'd like to do tip/ferrule and shaft work. I've found a resource for arbor's, taps, and the like, but I can't find any plastic or Teflon collets. I know they exist because I've seen them, but who sells them? I'd also like a steady rest that will fit it. the model number is 101.074 and 101.20140 for the gear box

any info is much appreciated!

BTW if anyone knows a good place for atlas/craftsman parts for lathes, I'd sure like to know

The best place for Atlas parts is Ebay, there's always alot of parts there.

You might consider making your own collets as a way to help familiarize yourself with the lathe. Just a thought.

For parts, you might try finding a used machinery dealer in the area, but your best bet is usually e-bay.

There is a guy on here tool hunter I think. Not sure. He deals with used atlas / lathes. Pretty knowledgeable. Search atlas lathe and you should see one of his posts.
