We've all seen Color of Money 1 and 2 which both featured Earl Strickland vs. Efren Reyes. Isn't it time for a Color of Money 3?!!

Who should be matched-up?

Bustamante vs. Souquet?
Deuel vs. Pagulayan?
Hohman vs. Pagulayan (a repeat of the 2003 WPC)
Strickland vs. Bustamante (a repeat of the 2002 WPC)

or should it be

Reyes vs. Strickland again?

I'd love to see a race to 120 with any of the top
players. Souquet and Bustamante would be great though.

How about Reyes vs. Fisher?

I'd pay good money to see that one!

Or Reyes vs. a top snooker player

Reyes vs a snooker player would be nice.
A guy from my local poolroom (Amsterdam west in NYC)
asked Mika Immonen how he would fare in 9 ball
against snooker phenom Ronnie O'Sullivan, Mika
paused for a moment and then hesitantly said that it
would be interesting.

Haven't seen Mika play snooker. Is he any good? Another good match-up would be Mika vs. Thorsten.

Instead of a race to 120, how about pick 5 billiard games with Efren and another good all around player. One pocket, banks, 8 ball, 9 ball, straight pool. I'd buy that tape.

A race to 120 Bustamante-Archer would be my choice. Or Busta-Yang (do you remember their match in 2002 WPC? 0-1; 5-1; 5-7; 11-7!!!).

Can you imagine how long would a race to 120 played by Ralf last?

i'd like to see bustamante vs. souquet. also, if they could add one pocket, 8-ball, straight pool, snooker and 3-cushion, we would get a "world champion" rather than a 9-ball world champion which is rubbish. being the champion of 9-ball is like being the worlds greatest chef for fast food!

I agree with the Reyes vs Parica Suggestion

That would be great to see a long race with Parica trying with every molecule of his being to win. He feels he have lived in Reyes shadow and ever time they match up, he tries extra hard to be victorious.

Parica v.s. Reyes Race to 120 nine ball

I agree...this would be a very interesting matchup, especially in light of the recent magazine (Billiards Digest?) cover story about Parica and how he's supposedly somewhat resentful of the exposure and hype that Efren gets, where he feels he deserves more respect since he's beaten Efren in head-to-head matches more than vice-versa....

I think until someone beats Efren he has to be in any COM 3! I dont know who you could get to beat him, He Is hard to beat when the race is to 11! I think in a very long set like 120 or a little bit under he is unbeatable!

Efren unbeatable in race to 120?

I don't agree he would be UNBEATABLE....remember Earl came within 3 games of doing so.....after 238 games!

I agree, any of the top 10 or so players can beat any
of the others at any given time.
Maybe they should decide a World Champion by a long
race, sort of like a big challenge match. I think
back in Greenleaf's day they did that a couple of years
instead of tournament, I believe it was a straight pool
game to 500 pts or so. Mosconi also had a big match
with Crane one year, something like 3000 or 4000 pts
over a few weeks in several cities. Although I'm not
100% sure if that was for a title or not.

I would love to see the top 16 or so players in the
world play round robin format, however every player
plays every other player many times (races to 15) over
a several weeks. Then the two players with the best
records play each other in COM type thing over 3 days
to decide the World Champion. Of course this is just
wishful thinking, it'll never happen.

Who's the CHAMPION of all champions?

It's gotten to the point for me where I don't see any way of proving who is the #1 pool player of today or yesterday or of all time... unless you could lock up the top ten champions of the world today in a pool room and let them play each other, every day for months and months, would that prove who was the best of the best? Or would that just prove who had the best endurance? And how could anybody say who is the best of all time? Could Luther Lassiter have beaten Efren Reyes in 9-ball? Could Muhammad Ali have beaten Rocky Marciano? Seems like comparing apples and oranges...
Anyway, I guess it's fun discussing and debating ....

I've seen Color of Money #1 (I have the videotape)...However, I didn't know about #2...Could someone tell me about that? Was it the same race to 120?
What was the final score? Is there a tape of #2? Where did it take place?
Thanks for any info on this...
