jumping with just a shaft is illegal correct?

we usta be able to just grab an extra shaft to legally jump...but I think I remember that being outlawed.

Something like a 42" minimum cue?

If you are playing league pool, then yes, there is a minimum cue length. The BCA pool league sets the minimum cue length at 40". If you are not playing league pool, then check with the house for their rule.

been about 5 years since any action. Social pool once every few months, but that's about it.

all the houses I frequent use BCA...so I'd be pretty sure shafts only are illegal.
