There have been a lot of conversations about cases lately. We've talked about looks, protection and history but I wanted to talk about the storage in a case. Most cases have a long pocket with a zipper for a jump handle and a short pocket. In my short pocket I keep chalk, tip tool, pocket marker shaft slicker and coin holder. The long pocket houses my jump handle, a bridge head, a qclaw, headphones, qwiz, and other misc things always wind up in this pocket. So now I'm out at my pool room playing and my case is leaning up against a table with my cues standing up inside it and I need my bridge head or jump handle or breathe mint or whatever may be down there. This takes some talent to find the one thing I need and retrieve it without knocking over the case or even the table. Not to mention trying to get something back in once the contents has shifted.
So I'm issuing a challenge to the case makers to try to solve this storage issue. What could be done to remedy this, or what have you already done.

Why not put a divider down the center of the long pocket and zippers on both sides to help split some things up so you can find them? I'm sure this has been done many times by several case makers.
 
Uh, your supposed to lean your cues against the claw. They shouldn't be in your case after you screw them together. There.....problem solved. :D
 
Get a Sucrets box to put the little sh*t from your case in. When you need something just grab the box. For those of you that play on bar boxes, an empty 35mm film case holds a nights worth of quarters perfectly without taking up much room. Just thought of this.....a pencil case would work too.

This entire tray is also removable. So if you wanted to you could lay it on the table and have all your stuff right there.

If you can imagine it we can probably build it.

Go to a camping / hiking store and buy a small ultra thin nylon travel bag. I have one for every case, about 4" x 8" and I keep all my stuff in it and put it in the pocket. That way when I need something, I just pull out the bag and have everything right in front of me

Fishing around in a crowded pocket down by your ankles is a pain in the ass
 
I have a Crown Royal purple draw string bag that I keep all the smaller stuff in.
 
I'd post a picture but I don't have one. I have a stand attached to my case. My case actually stands like a golf bag and I never have trouble with mine falling over and I always have a place to put my cues while playing...best addition I ever bought.
