Converting APA 8-ball and/or BCA 14.1 Straight Pool handicaps into 9-ball handicaps

Hello All,
I could use some advise. I haven't owned a poolroom in over 30 years, and I haven't played a match for anything more then bragging rights in over 25 years.
The room I play in is under new ownership, and the new owners like to play. We just finished our first 14.1 straight pool league, but it was full of BS. The owners want to keep the league running and growing and they asked me to assist them in running a 9-ball league this time around. Back in my day, there was only the BCA ranking system. Now, in our area, there's APA, TAP and BCA rankings.
Does anyone have any advise on converting APA 8-ball and/or BCA 14.1 Straight Pool handicaps into BCA 9-ball handicaps?

For your 9-ball league, what is the handicap scale and race length?

Starting off new players, in APA men usually start off as SL4 and adjust up/down from there. Local tournaments, unless previously vouch usually start new players as C, or even B (if it's short race, like to 5).

If you never done this before, my advice is to get someone who has experience with running tournaments and leagues to help you. Complainers may take up 80% of your time, and only represent 20% of the players.

I had one incessantly talking off my ear this weekend trying to convince me to open up a E and F class just for her. I replied back, I will be happy to continue this conversation with you at a tournament, but it's a moot point for me to talk further if you don't participate. I have limited resources, and my attention should focus on addressing the needs of the players in the tournament. If you want to participate, you vote with your wallet not your mouth.

combine/convert known players APA and/or BCA skill levels into a somewhat fair handic

Thank you, ctyhntr.
The link was very informative. I'm trying to combine/convert known players APA and/or BCA skill levels into a somewhat fair handicap system. I wanted some groundwork in advance in order to answer the BS questions that all crybabies have. I wanted to have well though-out, and firm basis to justify the player handicapping. After all is said, explained and done, and the player is still crabbing. My answer will simply be, "If you don't like it, don't play"
I am old school.
Thanks again for your time.
Good luck, Ctyhntr
