i know lil d won it
Was going to it but have ended up down all weekend with the Flu... How many people showed and does anyone have the final standing and payouts... Am not buying they didn't know Lil D wasn't a B but it was their tourney to decide who was and who wasn't =)

Lil D won Vern Green took second.
I will post the tournament payout tonight or in the morning, Justin has all papers.
I knew he was close to our cutoff for tournament, but this was our first one.
I think we did a good job, everything went pretty smooth. We did have complaints about Lil D. D was told before tourney if he got 1st or 2nd he would be banned, so guess what Lil D is banned. We want to have a tournament every other week. We would like to have everyone back $2900 total payout was unbelievable for our first event. Let us know what you think about having 2 tourneys a month.

I think two tournaments a month is a good idea, but like one a month better. Keep the entry $35 (i like the meal ticket thing) and you should get good attendance with that kind of payout. Seems better to have one big tourney than a couple smaller ones. If you want to attract out of town players who may be playing in other tourneys then two a month is to many.
A couple other suggestions - get rid of the flim flam rack your own 2 ball in the back nine doesnt count on the break thing. If you want a ten ball tourney have one. 9-ball is nine ball like it or not. Just play loser racks and winner breaks. Any one with some experience is gonna check the rack anyway.
I would also invest in some good racks. Half the time I racked for myself I couldn't get a good rack because the rack itself wouldn't allow it. Try some Magic Racks. Everyone gets a good rack and no need to waste time studying the balls for a half hour.
I would also suggest you keep the juke-box at a quieter level. I understand the attraction of the noise on a regular night, but I cant imagine most people want to hear 50 cent blaring out when they're playin in a tourney.
Last one - if you're gonna give a start time, try to stick to the start time. 2 hours late is a bit of stretch. Seemed to me that the house was pretty full by 2:00.
All in all it was a good time and I wish you luck in the future!

Yes Lil D is not a "B" player , the pool life is a funny thing. you have your normal joes that work from 9 to 5 and play the sport when they can and as often as they can. The best they can hope to be is a "A" player at best without devoting your compelte life to the game.
All n all the tournament was a great turn out and I will be back I finished a respectul top 10 , I call this respectful as I dont get the chance to play as often as I like , becasue I do have a great job and this pays the bills on a regular basis. Funny thing about having a regular job is I dont have to sit here and sweat the end result I win every day , week & month with this match.
