Corian Ferrules ...

I have been told by quite a few people that Corian has a tendency to crack.
I know that used to be the case years ago but I think I heard somewhere that the formulation was changed to make it less brittle. I know there is some very good looking colors like White and Bone. I have been using them for about three years and they dont seem to crack any worse than other material. Have any of you used this material in the last year or two?
I think they play a lot like Ivory.

I have several shafts with Corian ferrules. No problems. I know one cuemaker who has made hundreds of them. They will shatter if dropped, just like ivory, but have no problems ivory doesn't have. I think they are a little more harsh than ivory. I like the linen based phenolic, myself. Here's a picture of some ferrules.
