The older Cortland linen was a good bit thinner than the new linen. I don't have any advice for keeping a wrap clean, but can tell you that your wrap can be cleaned and repolished on a lathe by your local repairman.

Best way to keep your wrap clean, is wash your hands offen.
Cortland wrap is long gone. I have a small roll of lime green, and yes, it's not for sale, at any price.

The last time that I was at Barry Szamboti's house, he had a small quantity of Cortland. If you are fortunate enough to own one of his dad's cues, and you can live without your cue for a year or so, I am sure that Barry would wrap it in Cortland for 1500-2000. Or, you could just use Irish linen for about 2% of the cost of Cortland and have your cue wrapped in about an 30 minutes instead of 12+ months.

Irish linen comes in many colors. Cortland comes in one color only, white/green spec.

gee i though there was black, white/brown, camoflouge which looks like a rainbow when put on a cue, cause it turns a different color every yard.
and oh yeh,their squidding line was an off white color.
what most people think of was their "super cutty" white/green.
