Hey, all.
I picked up the coco Barnhart cue from Bama a week ago, and have had it out to play a few times.
All I can say is...HOLY CR@P!!!
I've owned 4 Barnhart cues over the past couple years...and over the past 5 years or so, more cues than I care to remember. This cue, without a doubt, is one of the most solid, stiff, and FUN cues to hit with that I've ever owned/tried.
I'm sure it's part "new cue syndrome," and part "good fit for my game,"...but I'm playing some of the best pool of my life with this thing. The fit and finish are flawless. The hit is oh-so-sweet. The balance is forward...primarily, I assume, due to the monster 4.4oz shaft. This is the first cue I've owned with a shorter ferrule...and I believe the first one made from Juma. The shaft taper is super stiff. Perhaps its a mix of the three...but the "hit" is exactly what I have come to like.
I was almost able to get the matched pair (Joe had a 4-point coco into curly maple cue, too)...but missed the boat by a day. Some jerk beat me to it. (
)
I'm thrilled to death with the cue, and can't wait to take it back out for some more table time.
I looked at Cory's cues at VF a couple times...and came close to buying one...but I'm glad I didn't. If I had, I wouldn't have been able to pick up this bad boy.
A HUGE 'thanks' to Bama for hooking me up (and letting me steal his pictures)...and an equally big 'thanks' to Cory for making such an amazing player.
