Craig Petersen Cue - For Sale

I've decided to sell my Craig Petersen cue and have put it on Ebay. I had Craig make me this cue when I was 16 years old in 1964.

As many of you know his cues are highly collectible and very rarely come on the market. I believe this is one of his very early cues and was made from a Burton Spain blank.

Please check out the Ebay listing, here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Craig-Petersen-...wItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1e57be7

You can also search for it by entering CUES PETERSEN in the Ebay search box.

Shape looks rough (hard to tell from the pictures) but looks like a fine example. I really like his work. Too bad he wasn't able to continue building cues. I can only imagine what he'd be doing now.

Did Craig make you this cue when he was working out of the Howard and Paulina Billiards Room in Evanston ??

It was up on the second floor of the building.

No at this time he moved his shop from the second floor in the rear of Howard and Paulina to a garage space in East Rodgers Park, same neighborhood as Howard and Paulina.

Tommyd strolling down memory lane. This has got to look similar to your long lost soldier.

Onehole, your second link does not work. However, your first is still fine.

eBay pics no longer enlarge for me wince they went over the top with flash and java, but from what I can see, it looks like an old Titlist blank. Again, I cannot see the other pics. Either way, it's a classic.

I've played at the Campus Room many times, and in fact, I think we may have met not to long ago. I used to hang out at Chris' over the last dozen years, and a couple of bars on the far north side as well.

Either way, good luck with your sale!!!

Yea, it does remind me of my old cue.

Mine had one Ivory dot at the base of each point and a small dot at the tip of each point, also four larger Ivory dots in the but section.

Don't know if it was a Burton blank, I just remember he pulled a titlist of the wall and said he would cut it here, add a brass joint and put a nice wrap on it.

I didn't ask him to do any inlays, he just did that on his own.

But he did write my name on it really fancy - Custom made for Thomas C. Richert.

That cue played unbelievable, I remember one time in a straight pool match, I sank my break ball and the cue ball hit the front of the rack, stopped for a second, then shot through the rack like a bowling ball smashing down pins.

One Hole, I was 16 also at that time, maybe we played some. I used to shoot at Howard Paulina probably four or five times a week.

Good luck on your sale, if your cue plays like mine, whoever gets it will have their Monster.

Craig Peterson - early cue for sale Ebay

Auction still in progress for my early Craig Petersen Cue: http://cgi.ebay.com/Craig-Petersen-C...sh=item1e57be7

Yes those were some great memories. I remember taking the L on Saturday mornings and getting off at the Howard stop and walking up the stairs to Howard and Paulina Billiards. It was the real deal, no music, second floor, dark and the only sound heard was the click of balls and the shuffling of feet.
Bob Siegel the owner would always give me a big hello and how ya doing.

I remember Craig's little shop in the corner of the room off the exhibition room. No fancy equipment..just a small lathe. Craig was a real nice guy and a gentleman. I remembered we played a little pool one day but his interest was in three cushion.

Not too many real pool halls left these days.

does anyone know if any of craigs cues might have been sold by dixie billiards in oak forest? i think my buddy bought a plain all wood cue cp in around 87 or so im trying to get in touch with him to get sum info about the cue...good luck with your sale!!!
