What type of publicly announced events do you have to promote your room?
I ask because I've been thinking about a King of the Hill type event. But wanted input from experienced people.
Here is how it would run:
Well-Known pro would be advertised,
The draw would be for bangers, league players or "hustlers," they pay entry fee to participate.
Those players would have to defeat three "less known pros" then get the chance to defeat the "well known pro."
A defeat defined by a race to three in 8 or 9 ball. With the condition that after two wins are made the opposing player breaks or decides to give the break away.
I figure if only 10 people sign up, I charge 20 pp. The "gladiator players" rent the table time. Then the house gives away $100 to the winner.
I win by the tables being busy, pros win by keeping busy, and newbies get chance to see if they measure up.
