All of this sponsorship talk has had me doing some thinking. It has been discussed that other sports/ recreational activities receive outside corporate sponsorship, yet pool in general has not. It as further been discussed about how pool is perceived in the general public and about how we can draw positive attention to pool.

Most pool players participate in other sports/ activities that ARE endorsed by non-sports/ activity related (at least directly) corporate sponsors. I was thinking that maybe these sponsors may be interested in knowing what population of their target audiences partakes in pool/billiards thus leading to another advertising venue.

For example, let’s go with Starter. Starter makes major sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball) jerseys. What would Starter want with pool? Pool players don't wear jerseys and IMHO I don't think they should. But, maybe Starter might be interested in pool/billiards if they realized that a certain percentage of their target audience (Football, Basketball, Baseball fans) also participated in pool (either played or followed the sport).

IMO, it could be worth the effort, so I took the time to make this poll to see what other activities pool players partake in. Please take the time to answer the poll and mark all that apply. Hopefully one day the answers will lead to the expansion and recognition of pool as a popular and legitimate sport.

Poll will be up for 10 days. Thank you.

Hey landshark i have some ideas for you email me and i will shoot them to you. I have thought about this for quite some time.

Candyman- FYI, I sent you a PM. :D

I know this poll hasn't been up very long, but I really wanted to stress how helpful this information maybe. Please take the time to answer the poll. As far as viable research goes, this survey could be legit with a low margin of error. The sample consists of ALL registered members, the more that respond the more accurate findings we will have. If the findings show a large interest in a few other activities then maybe research could be done on a higher level. There are several ways to reach the pool playing audience, while it would be alot more reliable if we used the APA, BCA, Valley Forge, Mid West Expo (and the alike) participants, it would take much more dedication and planning to conduct the research of a sample size that large. But it could be worth it if the members of this message board showed an interest. If anyone thinks this idea is silly, please let me know that too (seriously). It is just a brainstorming idea.

The only problem with treating these numbers as having a low margin of error is that I can not tell how many people (or the percentage of registered users) responded. Thus I can not legitimately say this survey showed a 55% user response of which 20% also participate/ follow the sport of Golf. But IMO, it is still worth the effort.

Thank you for everyone who has responded so far.
