After reading all of the massive threads and discussions on the merits and demerits of CTE aiming systems, I thought I'd at least try it since I'm still a beginner and haven't really tried any type of system before (usually aim by parallel lines) and having a fixed reference point would probably help with my preshot routine.
So after a few hours of just hitting center ball shots, I tried some shots with backhand english which I've never used before and I think I've confused myself (shouldn't have tried to make two huge changes at once, really) From what I read, BHE is dependent on a fixed pivot point/bridge length which varies by cue, and CTE advocates seem to prefer a fixed point around which they pivot to aim.
For CTE aiming system users, are these the same points (i.e. find the pivot point for BHE then use CTE) or are they separate? Also, what happens when you don't have the space necessary to bridge at the optimal pivot point to apply BHE? I assume it's just feel from there? My understanding of both is a little sketchy.
