As knowledgeable CTE players know, a 15 inside is interchangeable with a 30 outside....thus providing a very useful way to come off the rail at different angles for positioning variables.
For positioning or dodging an interfering ball this can be extremely helpful. (Without being forced into using spin and entering into the world of guesswork.)
justcueit.com has the answers you're looking for.

If there are subtle differences in the shot dynamics that could be an idiot proof adjustment. So fill me in on what I just said.
Sir, after reading a number of your posts, I do not think CTE would help you or be of value to your game.
The concept of a change for the better seems to have you very upset.
In the interest of your overall health and blood pressure levels it is probably best that you forget that it even exists.
Hypertension can be very dangerous if not treated properly.
Be well.
Kindest regards, "Low 500"

You said 15 inside and 30 outside are interchangeable with differing results. That means the compensations for the perceptions at least vary. That is besides the making the two completely different shots with different dynamics. Am I to take it that practitioners don't know what they are shooting beyond the "perceptions? " So what's it gonna be?
No need to call me sir either. Would like straight answers besides buy the book though...
