When banking, is there a way to determine which ctel to use and which e to a,b,or c ?
Something that would be to always look for and then know that's the ctel to use.
And when doing a cross over bank, how do you determine which sweep to use ?

Pretty much the same way as you would with cut shots. On most one rail banks, you should be able to look and have a reasonable idea of where you would aim to hit the shot. That should tell you which perception and sweep you need to make to hit the shot.

Keep in mind CTE takes you to the geometrically correct aim line with a slight over cut. This is the same for banks. You will have to tweak speed, cut angle, slight side English to account for table variation, cut induced spin, etc. The same as you do with any banking system. The advantage of CTE is that it takes you to the correct mirror image angle with a slight over cut. That will make a lot of 15 degree perception banks with medium speed CCB hits.

Practice it a bit. If you miss by a 1/4 Diamond or so, you likely had the wrong perception. Adjust accordingly, try again. If you miss by a little, adjust speed, vertical and side English slightly.

Find the mirror pocket, use the perception just like you were aiming straight into that pocket. There are many methods of finding the mirror pocket. Often times you can eyeball a bank shot, recognize if a dead-ball bank will come short or long of the pocket, and make the appropriate choice from there.

Sometimes I can see it very well and can bank it center pocket. Other times I"ll think it's correct and end up short or long.
That's why I thought I'd see if some of the cte / pro 1 bankers had some good tips for picking the correct visuals and sweeps.
If anybody feels up to making a youtube of banking with saying which ctel, visuals and sweeps for as many banks as possible. It would be imo a help to numerous users of cte /pro1.
I've watched Stan's on banking and there very good. Sometimes I'm not sure which ctel he's using. But I'm sure that's me that's not understanding it. Probably others do.
Thanks for the replies.

Good thread.
I was hoping that someone was up for the challenge.
Cheers:smile:
