I can't believe it! Called Pete Tascarella, he answered the phone, we spoke at length about ordering a cue, he said it would take 3 years and cost X. 2 years, 6 months later he called me again and said my cue was almost ready and he made sure my requested specs were still what I wanted. I sent him funds, and then I received the cue. OMG! And, the cue plays fantastic, the craftsmanship is perfect, and its more beautiful than I even pictured it would be.
With all the cue maker bashing lately, I thought I'd add a little levity and plug one of the "good guys. Lots of great cue makers with integrity, its too bad that some people have bad experiences with some cue makers. I find when dealing with a cue maker it is best to have a good idea of what you want before ordering, and you can finalize details with the help of the builder. Don't call on weekends or outside the hours of 9am - 5pm. (especially Tascarella) Be patient, and respect the cue maker's time. Every phone call takes time away from building cues, they are people too, and great cues take time...
