I have done a search on the forums but to no avail, can anyone describe how in depth the cue building book goes i have zero experience building, and i was just wondering. i am not going to start off building right away "walk before you crawl" i plan on just doing repairs for a year or so i was just wondering if it was a good investment at this time or if i should just save the money towards a repair lathe. i plan on buying the mid america starter lathe to test the waters. i love playing pool and wood working so i want to try this out. thank you all for any help!!!

it's an Encyclopedia for cue building. VERY detailed. Just about any question you would have related towards cue building will be answered in the book. It is a wealth of knowledge.

It is the FIRST investment you should make. Joe Barringer's dvd's are good as well. You need to know what you are getting into BEFORE you start spending money.

Joe's DVDs

I recently sold a book, they are on here from time to time.
If you are going to start building cues, I highly recommend Joe's DVD set. you'll spend allot of hours...and also do some rewinding. But you'll get tips you'll use the rest of your life. The best advice that he gave that stuck in my mind was in his DVD set. When you feel stumped making a piece, part or getting something set up for an operation he said "if your smart enough to build a cue you'll figure out a way" Great advice. It's not just about doing, it about thinking through every operation to an end result before cutting. Have a plan.
Good luck in starting out, it's a slippery slope not easily escaped.
