Cue case recommendation

Hello all,
I'm looking to buy a cue case for a single cue (on butt + one shaft). Needs to be a hard case, with an accessory pouch and a shoulder strap. Nothing really fancy in terms of design, just a solid functional casse. Any recommendations would be welcome. Thank you.

An inexpensive but hgh quality case would be a Guiseppe. I've used mine for about 10 years now and it's still looks like new. Good luck with your quest.

Just like ArizonaPet said Guiseppe cases are very good for the money. Also look into an Instroke case. There also a nice case for the money. Good Luck in your search.

Totally agree with you. They make the best case for the money. I have had a few of them for years. Quality for a real reasonable price.

I started out with a Giuseppe 1x1, as well. Then sold that and got a Giuseppe 2x2. Then sold that and got an Instroke 3x5. Giuseppe is a great case for the money and you can always find someone else that would want it for when you outgrow your 1x1.

I also think Guiseppe is the best case for the money. Their designs are a direct ripoff of Whitten's custom cases, if that doesn't bother you I say go wit Guiseppe. BTW, don't let the name fool you, their not Italian or American made.

They are reasonably priced, and have the Organic Rebound system. While I do not have this same case, I do have one of the Sterling cases with John's Organic Rebound system, and it is the bomb!! The butt and shafts just pop right up for very easy removal once the case is opened.

I can tell you that you will not find a case that will offer more in the way of ultimate protection for your cue, than any of John's cases. Here is a direct quote from John on why:

JB Case Philosophy by John Barton:

My philosophy is protection first. I started making cases for one simple reason, protection. Not just any protection either. Specifically, protection against damage resulting from your cues coming out of the case when you don't want them to. I had a $1400 Schon Cue that was broken because my open case was knocked off the table and the cue shot out of it and broke the butt cap as it clattered on the floor. That case was a $400 tooled leather beauty. Top of the line at the time. But it didn't do the one thing I felt it should and that was to protect my cues until I removed them from it.

What kind of protection am I talking about? Well, as mentioned above, each case I make does not release the cues until you take them out. Each case has high density foam rubber to pad against impact contusions. Each case has layers of insulation to provide some protection against environmental changes. Each case is lined with a non-abrasive and non-moisture absorbing material to protect the finish from scratches and to help keep the cue dry. No cue parts will be allowed to touch each other at any point. Your cue will be as protected as the design you choose allows for. A case's function is first to protect it's contents and second to provide easy assess to it's contents. Following that idea I build cases where the form follows the function. Another way to look at it is a center-out approach. Using the cues as the center, I put several layers of protection around them.

I have one of his old original Instroke Premier 1x2 cases that is fast approaching 10 years old now, and it still looks and performs as good as the day I received it. That kind of durability speaks volumes to me!! This would definitely be a 'best bang' for your buck case...hands down.

Best of luck with your search!

www.cuesight.com for pool cue cases. All the cases there have excellent value and protection for the money. I have worked hard for the past year to improve the interiors and add new exterior features to all the Sterling cases.

Please look at our offerings before making your final choice. I think you will be well pleased with the quality and workmanship for the price in comparison to competing brands.

Everything I learn while building JB Cases goes into the production cases. www.jbcases.com

Compare it to a racing team that is constantly researching and tweaking their cars so that all the results can make production cars better.

I REALLY like the way the Porper cases hold my cues. It is a nice tight secure hold. Also, the heavy foam in the lid is comforting. I really cannot see how a cue could get damaged packed in this case.

I only see 2 negatives. The joint pin is down, so I cannot pull a shaft and start it on the butt to pull the butt out. Also, it is too short for some/most JP's.

Pockets are nice and useful. I have the 2 x 4 vinyl. Looks great after many years. I'm going leather soon, so it might come up for sale. . .

Thank you to everyone who replied. After checking some of these out I think I'm going to go with the Guiseppe case. Should fit my needs nicely and isn't too expensive. Probably upgrade to something else down the line if I get a nice cue, but for now this should work great. Thanks again.
