My daughter gave me for Christmas two REALLY old one-piece house cues. The antique dealer told her they were traceable to the Nevada area, circa 1900(?).
One is a four point splice; the other is a butterfly splice.
One is stamped with a number 6, and the other is stamped with the number 14. Probably for the room to keep track.
Neither has a ferrule under the tip.
Does the lack of a ferrule help date these cues?

I appreciate any help.

Not really, no. Please post photos. Construction and the way the stamp looks will help date them. The bumper may, as well. I am interested in how he states they are traceable to Nevada.
