Cue for snooker and pool

So I picked up a Brunswick GC 1 6x12 and it came with some old pool bar cues. I am looking to pick up a cue for snooker as the old ones are terrible with these small balls.

I was thinking of going with an 11mm Dufferin Expert
Since I also need a cue to travel with to play on friend's with regular pool tables and balls. So I thought the 11mm could be used for both snooker and pool. The other option is to get the Dufferin Expert with the 12.5 and buy the 10mm shaft.

I am not expert and all though I've played pool my skill level is about 1 out 10 so going with some expensive cue would be a waste of money on me. Would the 11mm be good for both. I think there would be a little bit of transition always switching from 10mm to 12.5?

Buy the Expert and get the 10mm snooker shaft.....
...you'll get used to the switch.
You're already switching ball and table sizes, there's no way around it.
...also ball weight and different cloth comes into play.

The right tool for the job is never bad advice

Personally, I would go for a 10 mm if I could have only one for both games.

If you are buying additional shafts make sure what you order is compatible.
The joints on Dufferin pool and snooker cues are not the same.

Oh good point. I have a shop within a 40 min drive so I best go down to make sure. I just assumed since the have 3 sizes of the expert model that they would be the same.

Why not purchase a snooker cue (usual tip size 9.50mm) and a pool cue?

two different games, I would not buy a larger badminton racket to play tennis.

FWIW, I play a fair amount of snooker, but considerably more pool and used to have a Mike Wooldridge 9.5mm snooker cue, but I just never felt comfortable on shots when I had to juice it a bit. What I did is I started playing snooker with my regular shooter for pool, and I always use an OB2 11.75mm shaft for both tables. Works out for me pretty good as I don't have to adjust so much to equipment.

Snap ! I have a MW black legend .

Snooker is one of the most enjoyable and classic games in the world. But American pool cues don't normally have plain brass joints like snooker cues.
